- January 7: Eastern Orthodox Christmas
- March 8: International Women's Day - Began as a Socialist political event and blended the culture of many countries. While in some areas it still serves as a holiday focusing on political and human rights of women, in most areas, the holiday is similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's day and men use it to show their appreciation to the women in their life.
- March 21-23: Nauryz Meyrami - This is the Kazakh New Year.
- May 1: Kazakhstan People's Unity Day - A holiday to unite Kazakhstan's 150 nations and nationalities.
- May 9: Great Patriotic War Against Fascism Victory Day - A day to celebrate May 9th, 1954 - victory of the Soviet people against Fascism.
- July 6: Capital City Day - A day to celebrate the movement of the Kazakh capital from Alma-Ata to Akmola (now Astana).
- August 30: Constitution Day - One of the most important state holidays in the country. Public celebration events, festivals and concerts are held in all the regions of the country.
- December 1: First President Day
- December 16-17: Independence Day - Kazakh independence from the Soviet Union on December 16th, 1991.
